Commercial Motorized Door Safety
Motorized commercial and industrial doors improve efficiency, but they also introduce entrapment hazards that must be addressed at the design stage. Miller Edge provides safeguarding solutions that help architects and specifiers meet code requirements and design safer facilities.
UL 325 Requirements
Since August 2010, ANSI/UL 325 has required monitored entrapment protection devices for motorized commercial doors using momentary contact controls. The most common solutions are sensing edges for direct-contact detection and photo optics—including light curtains—for non-contact protection.
Safeguarding Methods
